About Shopify Migration from WooCommerce, Wix & More

Moving off WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace or another platform is straightforward to get wrong and expensive to redo. This migrates your products, customers and order history, rebuilds your storefront on Shopify, and maps 301 redirects so the search traffic your old URLs already earned actually follows you across.

Who this is built for

Businesses already selling online that have outgrown their current platform, or are simply tired of running it. You've got products, customers and years of order history that can't just be dropped, and search rankings you don't want to rebuild from zero on a new domain structure.

Not selling anywhere yet? Shopify Complete Store Design & Setup is the one you want instead.

What's included

  • A migration plan and data audit of your current store
  • Product, variant and collection migration
  • Customer and historical order migration
  • Blog posts and content pages moved across
  • Storefront rebuild on a Shopify theme
  • 301 redirect mapping from every old URL to its new home
  • Pre-launch checks and support on launch day

Why the redirects are the part that actually protects you

Shopify uses fixed URL patterns for products, collections and pages, so most of your current addresses simply won't exist on the new store. Without redirects, every link and search result still pointing at your old URLs lands on an error page. We map every URL that matters and set up 301s to their new home — with one detail that catches people out: Shopify only follows a redirect once the old URL stops resolving to a live page, so the mapping has to be planned around the new store's structure from the start, not added on afterward.

The one thing that genuinely can't migrate

Customer passwords. This isn't a limitation of how we work — Shopify's own help center is explicit that passwords can't be carried over from another platform via CSV import, because your current platform encrypts them in a way Shopify can't read. Customer records and full order history do transfer; customers just need to set a new password afterward. We plan the timing and wording of that invite so it doesn't read like a security scare when it lands in their inbox.

Once you're live, Shopify SEO Services is worth pairing with this if you want those rankings actively defended rather than just redirected, and Shopify Store Management & Monthly Support covers the store day-to-day after handover.

Why the order of operations matters

Products move first, then customers, then historical orders — the sequence Shopify itself recommends, so each past order links back to the right customer and the right product automatically. It's also the reason the whole thing gets planned before a single record moves: doing this twice is an expensive way to learn that.

Shopify Migration from WooCommerce, Wix & More FAQ

Common ones include WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Square and Etsy. If you're on something else, tell us in your brief and we'll confirm what can be moved before you commit.

Moving platforms always carries some risk, and nobody can promise zero change. We map your important old URLs to their new pages with 301 redirects, which is the standard way to pass search signals to the new addresses.

No. Shopify's help center says passwords can't be migrated from another store with a CSV import, because your old platform encrypts them. Customer details and order history come across, and customers set a new password when invited.

Yes, historical orders are included. They're imported after products and customers so each order connects to the right records.

Your old store keeps running while the new one is built. The switch happens once the new store has passed pre-launch checks.

That depends on the specific apps. Some data like product reviews or active subscriptions lives in third-party apps and needs its own export and import. We identify these in the migration plan so nothing is left behind by surprise.
