What stays untouched

A theme changes how your store looks, not what's stored in it. Products, customers, order history and page URLs carry over exactly as they are — which matters, because those URLs are usually holding whatever search ranking you've already earned. That's the real argument for redesigning instead of rebuilding.

The code apps leave behind

If your store has run through a few apps over the years, there's a good chance some of their code is still sitting in your theme. Shopify says this directly — uninstalling an app doesn't automatically remove the theme code it added. Clearing that out is part of the job, and it can lighten pages that have quietly picked up years of dead weight.

How the work actually runs

You sign off on a written scope before anything is touched, so you know exactly which pages and sections are in play. Will a redesign affect my SEO?

Changing the design doesn't change your product, collection or page URLs, so the rankings those pages have built stay attached to them. What can affect SEO is content you remove or rewrite, which is why it's all agreed in the written scope first.

Will my products and orders be affected?

No. Products, customers and order history live in your Shopify admin, not in the theme, so a redesign leaves them as they are.

Do I have to switch to a new theme?

Not necessarily. A lot can be done within the theme you already have. If the theme itself is holding you back, we'll say so before you approve the scope.

What's the difference between this and Shopify Theme Development?

This service reworks the theme you already have. Shopify Theme Development builds a new custom theme from scratch, which costs more and takes longer.

Can you remove code left behind by old apps?

Yes, that's included. Shopify notes that some apps leave code in your theme after they're uninstalled, and we clear out what your store no longer uses.
